Every time I plan to write a letter to you, I find that I have to change the
subject matter to cope with the latest revelations!
The latest scandal to hit our screens is the admission by no less than four
former Labour Ministers, that they have accepted payments in return for access
to Ministers, lobbied to change Government policy and apparently, successfully
changed decisions.  This is outrageous and is typical of the current Government
and its contempt for the rule of law and due process.
There will be some who will point to a previous Conservative administration, but
really you would have thought that this Government, elected on a platform of
being whiter than white, would have learned a lesson.  The few bad apples that
we had to deal with, were as nothing compared to the those of this Government.
It is time that we elected MP's who will be honourable once again, and who will
not allow themselves to be bought and sold by pressure groups.  Clearly, it is
time for a change of Government!
I give this commitment to the people of Edinburgh West.  I offer myself as your
prospective MP and will not use my position for financial gain.  I will publish
my expenses online and ensure that they never give cause for complaint.
